Keiffer McLean is a singer-songwriter and frontman for “Keiffer McLean & The Curiosity Club”, a band that has been active since 2012. McLean’s exceptional talent has garnered him nominations for two Canadian Folk Music Awards and one IMA (Independent Music Awards).
Keiffer’s original music has taken him and his band on tours across Canada and the United States, where they have showcased their unique sound at various high-profile festivals and showcases, including FAI (Folk Alliance International), Canadian Music Week, Junofest, and more.
Often referred to as “freak folk” or “progressive indie,” Keiffer’s music is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional banter and songwriting while still maintaining a sense of familiarity. Keiffer has been working on his highly anticipated second full-length album, “It’s Bees for Dinner,” set for release in late fall 2023.
Jakob Greifenhagen is a Canadian-American multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator. From a young age, his interest in music was fostered by prominent musicians and educators in the city of Regina, allowing him to grow his passion for the craft. Attaining a degree in music performance while living in New Orleans, and then another in music education while in Regina, continued this trajectory. Over the years, he has dabbled in the world of film scoring and western art music composition, with several pieces and songs being performed by various ensembles, while also performing in a variety of orchestras, wind ensembles, and pop music groups. Jakob also used to compete at a high level in several Canadian and American music performance competitions. There is nothing more rewarding than feeling the energy of the crowd and the feeling of the rhythm while creating soundscapes.
Justin Hauck is a highly skilled session drummer and drum instructor hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan. With nearly two decades of experience in the industry, he has worked with a diverse range of acts such as The Andino Suns, The Scott Richmond Band, Keiffer McLean & The Curiosity Club, Del Suelo, The Bromantics, and many others. Justin’s talents have taken him on tours throughout Saskatchewan, Western Canada, and Germany.
Justin’s educational experience spans over 14 years, teaching both privately and through the Saskatchewan Band Association and several schools across the province, specializing in both drum set and percussion performance. In 2016, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music(Percussion) Performance from the University of Regina.
As an accomplished musician, Justin has received two Western Canadian Music Awards for World Artist of The Year for 2017 and 2022 with Andino Suns, further highlighting his impressive talents and contributions to the music industry.
John Fortowsky, from Regina, Saskatchewan, has been immersed in the world of music from a young age, having attended music classes alongside his childhood friend and fellow band member, Jakob. Currently pursuing his studies in music at the University of Regina, John’s area of focus is on voice. With a passion for Celtic music, John has gained inspiration as a solo singer-songwriter. Recently, he joined Keiffer McLean and the Curiosity Club in late 2022.
